well it was that time again. i was so excited i had to go and get the newest and bestest shotgun ammunition out there today! BLIND SIDE, and because you can never predict how things will go, i didn't even use one shell this year, but the good thing was at least we actually got to hunt. water levels were too low and we suspected that's why we didn't see much ducks this year. another reason maybe because they moved the opener up a week early this year so maybe they aren't here yet.
first morning wasn't that great. we didn't even see much flying. there was about maybe just two ducks taken. afternoon hunt wasn't any better either. we got to shoot a few times, but came up empty handed. the second morning was a bit more promising. jack and i shot a duck each. i got myself one with a band on it! only my third year and i landed a trophy. i'm not sure how common they are, but i'm in the record books!
as always, it was a fun filled weekend. and as you can all see, while we didn't get much ducks, most of the guys used a lot of the down time to score some tree rats! not too shabby at all!
